Synopsis

This story takes in the themes of modern wuxia.

In the world of martial arts, there have been legends of many powerful warriors. The strongest to ever walk the Earth are West Side Principal, Zhou Da Tong, Tian Shan Tong Lao, and the villain Dong Fang Bu Bai.

Right now, the four martial arts schools, and the world along, are facing a danger approached by Dong Fang Bu Bai. The principal of West Side School gathers the best students from all four schools in hopes to train them into powerful warriors so they can fight against the enemy and restore peace to the world.

On one occasion, their best student, Linghu Cong, encounters the enemy and loses all of his martial skills during the attack. Furthermore, his girlfriend has a change of heart after spending time with the kind-hearted student, Guo Jing, making everyone in the team unable to focus.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 1

            Ling Hu and Cang Tai are standing up and facing each other.  The atmosphere feels very tense.  Cang Tai has always wanted to confirm who the winner between him and Ling Hu is.  Ling Hu doesn’t understand if it is really that important to see who the winner and who the loser is?  Cang Tai expresses that it is of course very important.  In the future, only the winner will be able to learn the hidden martial arts skills that are not passed on to outsiders.  Cang Tai takes one step forward and forces Ling Hu to fight.  Yet Cang Tai’s moves only causes Ling Hu to easily counter attack.  As expected, within a few moves, the winner is determined.

            On a Taipei City street, Guo Jing is driving a motorcycle.  There are many cars on this busy Taipei City street and Guo Jing’s motorcycle is stuck in this traffic.  The mighty and powerful 18 Dragon Subduing Palms is released.  The wind from the palm causes Guo Jing’s tightly squeezed motorcycle to move from left to right.  Zipping through this traffic like a ship running through the waters of the sea, Guo Jing, who is wrapped up in his own fantasy, sees himself extending his hand out.  If he really did know martial arts, how good will that be?  He suddenly hears someone crying out for help.

            Not far away, two thieves are robbing someone.  Guo Jing’s motorcycle stops in front of the two thieves and blocks their escape paths.  He also blocks the paths of Ling Hu Cong and Jian Ning.  Without a thought for his own safety, Guo Jing gets beaten up by the two thieves.  Ling Hu Cong couldn’t stand to see this.  The thief that is not holding the wallet comes forward with a knife in his hand to quickly end this fight.  Unexpectedly, Ling Hu Cong moves even faster.  He effortlessly pulls an umbrella that is in an umbrella stand on the side and points the tip of the umbrella at the thief’s wrist causing the knife in the thief’s hand to immediately drop to the ground.  With his mouth wide open, Guo Jing takes this scene in, filled with astonishment on his face.  Guo Jing, who is interested in martial arts, is extremely excited and he even wants Ling Hu Cong to accept him as a disciple and teach him his skills.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 2

            Walking on a small hilly road at night, Guo Jing comes face to face with an assassination scene right out of the comics.  He tries his best to help the Dong Cheng Guardian.  The Guardian transferred all his martial arts skills to Guo Jing and tells Guo Jing that he must deliver the wooden box to Xi Cheng.  Inside the old room that he rented, Guo Jing worriedly stares at the wooden box on top of the desk that the Dong Cheng Guardian handed over to him.  Guo Jing picks up the wooden box and tries to open it but he couldn’t.  He shakes it really hard but no sound comes from the inside the box.  At this time, a rushed and violent knocking sound comes from the door.

            The landlord is knocking on the door with a vicious look on his face.  Guo Jing carefully climbs out the window and starts to make his way down.  He suddenly loses his footing and starts to fall.  In the air, Guo Jing flips and agilely lands on the ground.  A stunned Guo Jing stands up straight and finds out that he is actually okay.  Guo Jing is now near the bus station sign and from a distance, he sees the bus doors closing and about to pull away.  Guo Jing starts to chase after the bus and finds that his feet mysteriously runs pass the bus.  Holding his takeout food, Guo Jing passes by a certain tall building.  Something is being placed on top of the building but unfortunately, the rope snapped.  Guo Jing raises his head to look up and finds an enormous object falling down.  He holds up his arms and actually catches the object in his hands.  At this time, the workers are hastily calling others to come over and help.  Guo Jing uses all his efforts to hang on and during this time, he truly realizes that something is not right with himself.

            Before he passed away, the Dong Cheng Guardian left behind a Morse code type of message for the Principals’ of Dong and Xi Cheng.  As a result, the two Principals send two representatives in hopes of quickly finding the wooden box so that it doesn’t land in evil hands.  Just when Guo Jing arrives at the bamboo grove to look for Ling Hu and Jian Ning, Jian Ning does not know that the person in front of them is the one that they have been looking for all along.  As for Guo Jing, because he did a good job of protecting the mysterious box, the Principal of Xi Cheng allowed him to join the school to study.

            As he wished, Guo Jing finally gets into Xi Cheng Martial Arts School.  The following day, Ling Hu and Guo Jing meet.  Guo Jing wants to show his respect to Ling Hu and Ling Hu explains how things work around here to Guo Jing.  Guo Jing follows and busily writes down everything on his notebook.  Ling Hu expresses that there are a total of 4 martial arts schools around.  Everyone joins the school when they are young but when they graduate will all depend on their own progress.  Basically their school teaches all the martial arts skills from the 8 sects including knife, sword, lance, stick, secret weapons, etc.  At this time, they both arrive at the weapons room and it is filled with all types of weapons.  Ling Hu explains that he mainly specializes in the sword; Cang Tai in small knives; Ying Ying in the whip; Jian Ning in double knives.  Guo Jing vigorously wants to learn everything.

            Aside from receiving Guo Jing as a new student, Xi Cheng School gathered the best students from Dong, Nan and Bei Schools to protect the mysterious box.  In a blink of an eye, Xi Cheng School becomes a place where all the martial arts experts are gathered together in.  It turns out that the person who was after the Dong Cheng Guardian is Dong Fong Bu Bai, the fellow apprentice of the Principals’ of the 4 schools.  In order to become the ruler of the world, Dong Fong Bu Bai created his own sect to go against his traditional fellow apprentices who are protecting justice.

            Although all the best students from the schools are gathered together, but their battle formation against Dong Fang Bu Bai is still not complete yet.  Furthermore, differences and conflicts developed between the students from the other schools and the students from Xi Cheng.  Ren Ying Ying also finds out that her father is still alive and that he is being imprisoned by Dong Fang Bu Bai.  All these situations give rise to the unforeseen storm that is quietly brewing within Xi Cheng School.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 4

            The evil sect, who is pursuing Ling Hu Cong and Ren Ying Ying, immediately recognizes that Ying Ying is Ren Han Tian’s daughter.  The disciples of the evil sect get into a battle formation in hopes of enclosing Ying Ying and Ling Hu in the middle.  Ying Ying pulls out the long whip that surrounds her waist and waves it at the disciples of the evil sect.  As Ling Hu Cong is using his hands to fight against one guy, the florescent stick of another guy hits Ling Hu on his hand.  In pain, the long lance in Ling Hu’s hand falls to the ground.  Taking this chance the Guardian of Dong Fang evil sect starts to wield his hand to hit it towards Ling Hu.  Ying Ying dodges in front and shields the attack for Ling Hu.  Her shoulder gets hit and she falls down in front.  Ling Hu is busying fighting against those people attacking him.  He grabs hold of the other end of the florescent stick that a guy is wielding towards him and the guy is thrown off guard and pushed into the leader of the pact.  Ying Ying is gravely injured.  Will the two of them be able to get away?

            Guo Jing drives his motorcycle to the breakfast shop.  After he parks the motorcycle and Jian Ning gets out of the car, a strange person bursts into the scene.  When this crazy old person roars, Guo Jing sees him turning around towards the garbage can to try to pick something out of it to eat.  Guo Jing couldn’t stand to see this and he runs over to the old man.  However, the strange man did not accept Guo Jing’s good intentions and yells at Guo Jing instead.  The strange man reaches into the garbage can and pulls something out to eat.  Jian Ning pulls Guo Jing into the shop to buy breakfast.  When the owner is about to hand over the food to Guo Jing and Jian Ning, the strange man extends his arms with lightening speed and takes away Guo Jing’s food.  He immediately starts eating it while his eyes are staring at the food in Jian Ning’s hands.  Just when Jian Ning wants to hide the food behind her back, the speed of the sneeze coming from the strange man is much faster.  All his saliva and snot sprays onto Jian Ning’s food and she gets extremely mad.  Guo Jing comforts Jian Ning and pulls her away from the breakfast shop.  Who would ever know that this strange old man would be a martial arts expert?!

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 5

            Near the bookshelves in the library, Ling Hu is carefully searching for the materials that he need.  He finds a booklet about Xi Cheng’s past faculty and staff members and he wonders who the spy is.  After he leaves the library, he suddenly gets an animosity feeling in the air!  A secret weapon suddenly slices through the air!  Ling Hu agilely dodges away from it but the antagonist seems determined to kill Ling Hu.  The secret weapons continue to shoot out!  One of the secret needles pierces into Ling Hu’s arm and following right behind another one is aimed for Ling Hu’s eye.  It looks like Ling Hu would not be able to dodge this one.  Suddenly a long sleeve swiftly flashes out into the scene and draws the secret weapon away.  It turns out that this sleeve is from the Principal who helped to settle this danger.  The Principal believes that the person who wants to kill Ling Hu should be the spy that is hidden within Xi Cheng.  This makes Ling Hu even more determined to find out who the spy is..

            In order to find out whom the masked person is, Ling Hu and Ying Ying are both thinking very hard.  They accidentally discovered that the nurse is dressed in a black disguise and secretly leaves from the hill in the back of the school.  Ling Hu and Ying Ying follow behind.  The nurse arrives at the entrance of a hospital and stops.  She appears to be thinking about something and then quickly goes around to the side of the hospital.  Ling Hu and Ying Ying secretly follow her.  Suddenly Ling Hu’s cell phone rings and the nurse quickly turns around, fully alert.  With their back to the nurse’s direction hiding behind a shield cover, Ling Hu and Ying Ying didn’t even dare to breathe loudly.  The nurse takes two steps toward their hiding place and reveals a cold smile on her face.  She puts her hand inside a bag and wields a secret weapon out.  Ling Hu carefully turns his head around and sees a few small needles that are used for acupuncture lodged into the shield that they used to hide not far from where his head is.  This reminds him of the masked assassin that he ran into from before.  He sticks his head out but the nurse is already gone.

            With a solemn expression on his face, the Principal listens to Ling Hu’s report on his encounter of following the nurse the night before.  At this time, Ying Ying enters into the Principal’s office.  Ying Ying sees Ling Hu and feels a bit awkward.  They both deliberately avoid looking into each other’s eyes.  In order to find out the truth of the matter, the Principal needs Ling Hu and Ying Ying’s help…

            In the chamber where the scriptures are held, the nurse is feeling the guardian’s pulse.  Holding up a needle, the nurse stands behind the guardian.  With her finger, she lightly points at the back of the guardian’s neck.  The guardian immediately weakens, without any fighting power and falls unconscious onto the side of the desk.  Seeing that the guardian is unconscious, a smile flashes across the nurse’s face.  She quickly turns toward the shelf where the mysterious box is placed.  She keeps on turning over the books and finally finds the wooden box!  She breaks the wooden box apart with her hands and is shocked to find that the box is empty.  Looking up, she finds the Principal, the guardian, Ling Hu and Ying Ying, all with weapons in their hands and guarded expressions on their face, staring at her. The nurse throws out her secret weapon at the 4 of them.  The Principal, the guardian and Ling Hu is able to block the attack but one of the needles pierced right into Ying Ying!

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 6

            The Principal, the guardian and Ling Hu, all dodged away from the nurse’s secret weapon but one of them pierced right into Ying Ying’s right arm.  Just when Ling Hu steps forward to examine Ying Ying’s injury, he hears the nurse’s painful cry.  It turns out that the long lance in the guardian’s hand had strike into the nurse’s chest.  The nurse spits out a mouth full of fresh blood.  The Principal and the guardian interrogate the nurse.  The nurse runs out of the chamber and the Principal and the guardian both run after her.  In order to put Ling Hu at ease, Ying Ying clenches her teeth and pulls out the needle from her right arm.  She tells Ling Hu to hurry up and follow the others.  With her left hand, Ying Ying holds onto the arm that is injured with the secret weapon and anxiously looks over at where the nurse’s figure disappeared.

            Because Guo Jing didn’t pass his lance exam, Professor Lu arranged for Ling Hu and Guo Jing to have a fight.  At this time, the boss lady of the Welfare Society comes to look for Professor Lu.  She has a document in her hand and she is quietly discussing it with Professor Lu.  Guo Jing and Ling Hu fought for awhile and if Ling Hu was really serious in his fighting then Guo Jing would have lost long ago.  At this time, Guo Jing remembers something that the strange old man told him.  Without thinking, Ling Hu goes after Guo Jing’s weak point.  Who knew that this is exactly the moment that Guo Jing is waiting for from Ling Hu and he successful blocks the attack.  Following the words of the strange old man, Guo Jing starts his attack and manages to make Ling Hu drop his lance on the floor.  Guo Jing’s lance is pointed right at Ling Hu’s throat.  The boss lady witnesses this scene and there is a strange expression on her face.  These familiar moves seems to have touched a deep part of the boss lady’s heart that no one knows about.

            Guo Jing has a meeting with the strange old man.  He continues to turn around to look behind him as he worries that he would be followed.  After a couple of times of turning around and certain that he is not being followed, only then did Guo Jing feel at ease and continue onward.  Unfortunately, he is still followed by the boss lady and the hiding place of the strange old man is discovered.  When the strange old man sees the boss lady, he has an expression on his face as if he has seen a ghost.  He immediately tries to run away and the boss lady blocks his escape path!  Why is it that the strange old man, who has such great martial arts skills, would be so afraid of the boss lady?  What exactly is their relationship?  Would it affect Guo Jing’s future in learning martial skills?  Or will it affect the future of Xi Cheng School?

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 7

            The mischievous and silly Xiao Bao didn’t want Xiao Long Nu to know that he is the Prince Charming that’s in her heart.  As a result, he rather pushes everything off to Liu Xiang.  Sitting underneath a big tree on a certain part of the campus grounds, Xiao Long Nu sighs ~~ Xiao Bao quietly appears from behind the tree and Xiao Long Nu quickly wipes away the traces of her tears.  Turning her head and seeing that it is Xiao Bao, her pretense expression quickly disappears.  Xiao Bao tries to comfort Xiao Long Nu but she doesn’t want to hear any of his nonsense which makes Xiao Bao helpless and sad.

            Inside the hospital room, Ren Han Tian lies motionlessly on the bed.  The heart monitor by the bed displays a flat line and a steady sound.  The two Dong Fang Bu Bai guards are startled and at a loss.  The guards unlock the chains around Ren Han Tian’s hands to might it easier to save him.  Suddenly, someone taps the guards on their shoulders from the back and when they turn around, they were knocked unconscious.  This person actually turns out to be Ren Han Tian.  Outside the hallway of the hospital room, the doctors hurriedly arrive.  Pushing open the door, all they find are the two guards lying on the floor.  On the bed are the left over remains of a broken cast which appears to have been broken up by someone’s internal power.  Ren Han Tian has escaped from the hospital.  Will Ren Ying Ying and her father be able to be reunited soon?

            Ling Hu is lying on an elevated place alone and is thinking about the time when Ying Ying deliberately ignored him.  At that moment, he sees a blue fire symbol on the big display board on a certain tall building.  Ling Hu turns around and sees the same symbol on another building display.  All the buildings within Ling Hu’s sight have the same situation appearing.  He suspiciously thinks that something definitely bad is happening.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 8

            Xiao Bao’s secret can’t be hidden any longer and so he told everything that happened to Liu Xiang and asks Liu Xiang for his help.  Seeing Xiao Bao’s desperately pleading expression, Liu Xiang is angry but he couldn’t bear not to help Xiao Bao.  From Xiao Bao’s desperate pleading, Liu Xiang couldn’t help but wonder and look at Xiao Bao with a strange expression.  Could it be that Xiao Bao likes Xiao Long Nu?

           Liu Xiang helplessly looks at Xiao Bao and sighs loudly.  With a heavy heart, Xiao Long Nu hurriedly rushes over to the chamber and keeps on conjecturing worried thoughts.  Liu Xiang is already standing there waiting for her.  It is the first time that Xiao Long Nu is seeing Liu Xiang alone and she actually feels a bit shy.  Liu Xiang decides to speak up first and confirm that he is the little boy from the past.  Xiao Long Nu softly releases her breathe.  This mystery of many years has finally been solved.  Xiao Long Nu couldn’t hide her disappointed expression and yet she still puts on a generous face so that her childhood memories could have a happy ending!  However, Xiao Long Nu still feels that something is very strange and so she tests Liu Xiang.  Watching Liu Xiang’s back, Xiao Long Nu has a serious expression on her face.

            Elsewhere, the strange Zhou Da Tong is sitting underneath a tree in the back mountain with his eyes closed.  Suddenly, he frowns strongly and he’s breathing rapidly with sweat running down.  He lightly touches his stomach with his hands and it is clear that he is trying very hard to gather his power under control and to slowly meditate.  Guo Jing appears and the strange man opens his eyes and a swift and powerful expression shoots out from his eyes.  Seeing the serious expression on the strange old man’s face, which is different from his usual ones, Guo Jing is scared and nervous.  After finishing what he is saying, Guo Jing quickly turns around to leave.  However, the strange old man’s quick as lightening leg sweeps out and knocks Guo Jing onto the ground.  Guo Jing didn’t even have a chance to react before the strange old man starts to attack him.  

             At this time, Guo Jing finally realizes that the strange old man is trying to teach him and he quickly counterattacks.  The two of them fought over a few moves and Guo Jing gradually begins to be able to handle the moves.  The more they fought, the happier they get.  However, the strange old man’s reaction suddenly slows down and Guo Jing hits a punch right at his master’s body which makes Guo Jing extremely frightened.  The strange old man abruptly hugs his stomach and drops to the ground in obvious pain.  Guo Jing’s fright turns into astonishment.  The strange old man wants to call out to Guo Jing but he couldn’t make any sounds at all.  In extreme pain, he falls onto the ground.  The strange old man knows that the bug in his stomach is about to break through his intestines.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 9

            The Seven Person Maze starts to practice without the presence of Ling Hu Cong.  The seventh person is actually Xuang Er.  Everyone is practicing and suggests holding a farewell party for Ling Hu and Jian Ning.  Ling Hu and Jian Ning also don’t want to leave the others and before they leave the country, they left their blessings and cards behind.  Guo Jing stayed by Zhou Da Tong’s side while he is sick.  Zhou Da Tong sees through to Guo Jing’s good heart and encourages him to take hold of what he sees.  He even tells Guo Jing about his dreams with Professor Jin from the past.  The spiteful-looking Professor Jin appears to be teary-eyed outside the hospital room.

            At the farewell party, everyone is trying to appear relaxed but Ling Hu’s mocking words at himself only makes everyone’s mood quite sad.  In order to brighten up the atmosphere, Xiao Bao suggests breaking up into groups to play a game.  Under the deliberate partner exchanges of everyone, new surprising groups are created.  During the course of the game, Guo Jing gets intentionally hurt by someone.  Fortunately, it wasn’t serious but this made everyone wonder who the spy within Xi Cheng School is.

            Late in the night, Ying Ying is alone in the auditorium practicing vigorously.  Jian Ning appears to show her care and to talk.  The mysterious person in black shows up again.  Ying Ying and Jian Ning is no match for the person in black in the dark.  Fortunately, the principal arrives just in time to help them.  Not only did he save their lives but the principal also injured the person in black’s left leg.  Who is the spy---it will soon be revealed.  When the spy is revealed how much shock and pain will this bring to the teachers and students of Xi Cheng.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 10

            Jian Ning mistakes Ling Hu Cong for being Guo Jing and confesses right in front of him.  Ling Hu Cong is startled and thinks back to all the things that have happened in the past with Jian Ning.  Both have been taking their feelings for granted and lying to themselves and to each other.  Afterwards, Jian Ning sees the real Guo Jing and they both decide to face the truth.  Actually, complicated feelings are not something that Ling Hu Cong is used to.  Hence, Ling Hu Cong decides to thoroughly give up on himself and his future.

            A surprising development occurs with Wei Xiao Bao and Xiao Long Nu’s relationship, due to Xuang Er’s addition.  Meanwhile, Chu Liu Xiang and Ren Ying Ying are both entangled in their own feelings between loving and letting go.

            Under Zhou Da Tong’s persuasion, both Professor Jin and he avoid each other.  Professor Lu’s accusation of being the secret spy seems to have been resolved.  The future of Xi Cheng Martial Arts School will be depended on the protection from these outstanding chivalries.  Ling Hu Cong’s departure caused the peaceful environment at Xi Cheng to change.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 11

            Because he lost all his skills, Ling Hu Cong sank into despair and runs away from Xi Cheng.  Jian Ning and Guo Jing’s remorse, Ying Ying’s deep caring love… the three of them each go on their own way to find Ling Hu Cong.  In order to protect the secret wooden box and fight against Dong Fang Bu Bai, the principal and Professor Lu decides to pick other outstanding students from each of the schools to replace Guo Jing and Ying Ying’s position in the Seven Person Maze.  Aside from Cang Tai, no one is happy with this decision.  Professor Lu suggests that they all leave the mountains for a week to go and search for these missing people.  Otherwise, they will return to Xi Cheng and regroup the Seven Person Maze without any other objections.

            The nurse, who was originally suspected of being a secret spy, saved Guo Jing right at the moment when he was in danger and calls the bleeding young girl “Lao Lao.”  This young and beautiful Lao Lao is actually the famous “Tian Shan Tong Lao.”  She is also Guo Jing’s master, Zhou Da Tong’s old lover.  Will her appearance help Guo Jing in finding Ling Hu Cong or will it hinder his efforts?

            Hong Shi Ba, a rich young man, who is returning to the country from studying aboard, has suddenly decided to get close to Ren Ying Ying.  He is Ying Ying’s only clue in searching for Bing Fu Dan.  Ying Ying finally finds the discouraged Ling Hu Cong.  Will Hong Shi Ba be able to uncover the secret of Bing Fu Dan?  Will Ling Hu Cong be able to regain his powers?  What is so mysteriously powerful about the Bing Fu Dan that would cause Dong Fang Bu Bai to want to get his hands on it no matter what?  What will happen during the week when the Brown Sugar Chivalries are not at Xi Cheng? 

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 12

          While deeply in love, Wei Xiao Bao and Xiao Long Nu exhaust all their efforts to find any information about the whereabouts of Ling Hu Cong. Couples who are passionately in love always argue over the littlest of things.  For the smallest thing, the two of them got into a big argument.  A very angry Xiao Long Nu leaves and gets attacked by the followers of the evil sect.  Her life is in danger and Wei Xiao Bao blames himself greatly.

            With Hong Shi Ba’s help, Bing Fu Dan is uncovered.  Ying Ying hopes that the Bing Fu Dan is able to help Ling Hu Cong regain his powers.  After all the painful hard work, they finally found the Bing Fu Dan.  Dong Fang Bu Bai kidnaps Liu Xiang and Cang Tai and uses them in exchange for the Bing Fu Dan.  For the life of his friends, Ling Hu Cong hands over the Bing Fu Dan to Dong Fang Bu Bai.  Now that Dong Fang Bu Bai has the help of the Bing Fu Dan and even though Ling Hu Cong has returned to Xi Cheng, but there is another chivalry who is hurt within the Seven Person Maze.  Although there is help from the Beggar’s Sect which Hong Shi Bai leads, but the powers of both are still very much different.

            The beautiful Tian Shan Tong Lao’s favorite pastime is to break up people’s relationships.  Guo Jing and Jian Ning have always felt that they owed Ling Hu Cong.  Tian Shan Tong Lao deliberately made things worse and added more pain to what they were feeling.  It appears as if she is deliberately trying to break up the couple’s relationship, but because of her granddaughter, the nurse, Tian Shan Tong Lao keeps a very close eye on Xi Cheng.

            Because of the progress of the Seven Person Maze, the principal spends a lot of time strategizing and planning.  That night, Professor Lu comes to have a meeting with the principle and after leading the principle to a quiet place, Professor Lu kills him.  He then makes it look like the principal was killed by someone else.  Professor Lu is actually the secret spy whom everyone is painstakingly trying to find but yet, everyone still doesn’t know the truth.

The Legend of Brown Sugar Chivalries Synopsis Episode 13

            Professor Lu took over the principal’s duties at Xi Cheng.  Under the pain of losing their principal, the students start to work on their Seven Person Maze in hopes of defeating Dong Fang Bu Bai and the evil sect.

            Xiao Long Nu’s condition gradually turns for the better and Xiao Bao tries his best to be good to her.  Ling Hu Cong also turns back from the edge of giving up on himself.  In addition, after Tian Shan Tong Lao steals the Yi Jin Jing from Nan Cheng, Ling Hu Cong gradually starts to regain his powers back.  Liu Xiang and Cang Tai’s health also gets better after being kidnapped by Dong Fang Bu Bai.  Guo Jing is the only one who hasn’t had any serious injuries.  Guo Jing, who looks slow and dumb, actually finds out that Professor Lu is the culprit who killed the principal but he doesn’t want Jian Ning to know.  However, when he tries to gather everyone together to reveal this truth, a mysterious and sudden situation arises.  In one night, the other three schools were attacked and seized by the evil sect.  Dong Fang Bu Bai’s Sheng Nu Hu Fa also breaks through into Xi Cheng.  All the teachers and students managed to get away with Hong Shi Ba’s help.

             Jian Ning finally finds out what her father did.  She is very shocked and returns to Xi Cheng to question Professor Lu.  At the same time, Dong Fang Bu Bai is also chasing after Professor Lu to kill him off.  Jian Ning’s arrival allows Dong Fang Bu Bai to easily capture her for hostage.  Everyone returns to Xi Cheng for a fight to death with Dong Fang Bu Bai.  In order to uphold thousands of years of justice in the martial arts world, everyone is exhausting all their powers and life for this last battle.  Victory would eventually be on the side of the Brown Sugar Chivalries.

Ep 04: Solitude of two people

Aya and her parent's take a taxi home from the clinic as she recalls the truth about her illness. The three of them decide to hide it from the other children as Aya heads to her room in a daze. At dinner, Shioka goes to see Aya in her room. Aya tells her mother she will be strong as Shioka tries to give her hope. However, both break into tears. Shioka questions Mizuo whether it was a good idea to tell Aya the truth but Mizuo reassures her.

The next day, the other kids question Aya's behavior as the parents worry but Aya acts cheerfully instead. On the way to school, Aya contemplates how her world has changed forever. In class, Haruto stares at Aya as he remembers their last encounter in the biology lab when Tomita approaches him.

In gym class, Aya is feeling more physical difficulty and is replaced by Mari on the team. Shioka is visiting Dr. Mizuno again to update on Aya's condition. At night, Aya is writing in her diary about her illness.

The next day in class, Mari tells the other girls she is dating Kouhei Onda, Haruto's best friend, while they question Aya about asking Kawamoto-senpai to the fireworks display. He just so happens to come by to invite Aya for the occasion. Aya agrees. At home, Aya tells her mother about being asked out by Kawamoto-senpai and asks how she should reject him. Shioka encourages Aya to go. Ako catches Aya blushing as she looks at her calendar in their bedroom.

On the fireworks night, Shioka fixes up Aya's yukata as she heads out to meet Kawamoto-tachi. Ako goes too, but without a yukata. Aya and Kawamoto-senpai are dubbed the new 'basketball couple' as Haruto spots them from far behind. As they cross a street, Aya's body fail to move again and she falls forward, striking her head on the cement. She is taken to hospital immediately.

Dr. Mizuno talks to the Ikeuchi's about Aya's condition again. At home, the children, especially Ako, are becoming suspicious over Aya's behavior. Mizuo goes off privately and cries over the situation. In the hospital, Dr. Mizuno introduces Aya to Dr. Tanabe, her new rehabilitation doctor. Mizuno and Tanabe walk off talking about Aya knowing of her condition.

At school, the homeroom teacher tells the PE class about Aya being hospitalized as Mari and Saki decide to visit Aya. Kawamoto-senpai's friend tells him he chose the wrong girl to like. At home, Ako reluctantly agrees to help her fatherout at the store while Shioka goes to see Aya.

At the hospital, Aya's friends come to visit her and bring her gifts. As the classmates leave, they talk about Haruto not coming and Tomita reveals how Haruto lost his onii-san Keisuke. Later, Ako takes Ganmo the pup out for a walk and runs into Haruto.

Kawamoto-senpai decides to visit Aya in hospital and sees her during her rehabilitation session. Aya apologizes for causing trouble for him as Dr. Mizuno gives Aya permission to go out on her senpai's birthday. Senpai doesn't look very happy. Later, Aya is having more tests done on her condition. Haruto makes a surprise visit to see Aya at the hospital. The two go out on the roof to talk.

As Haruto leaves the hospital, he observes Dr. Mizuno and decides to do some research. At school, Haruto overhears how Kawamoto-senpai plans to dump Aya. Aya is preparing to go out on her date with Kawamoto-senpai as Haruto is heading to the hospital to see her. Dr. Tanabe tells him that Aya already left for her date. Haruto runs out after her.

Meanwhile, Aya is standing in the heavy rain outside the Zoo as Haruto arrives with an umbrella. He tells her that senpai won't be coming. She thanks him, and he brushes it off by talking about penguins instead.

Ep 01: The beginning of my youth

The drama begins just before Aya is struck with a tragic illness, called Spinocerebellar Degeneration, in which the nerve cells of areas necessary for the human body to move and balance - including the cerebellum, brain stem, and spinal cord - are destroyed with time.

15-year-old Ikeuchi Aya is the eldest daughter of a typical Japanese family. She lives with her cheerful and reliable mother, ; father, Mizuo, owner of a tofu shop; younger sisters Ako and Rika, and younger brother Hiroki.

On the day of her high school entrance exam, Aya is full of energy as she leaves the house. However, she falls asleep on the bus and misses her stop. She hurriedly gets off and starts running, then trips and injures her knee. That's when she meets Aso Haruto, who was planning to skip the exam. As it started to rain, he gives her a ride on his bicycle to school where the exam will be given. Aya is allowed to take the exam in the school nurse's office, and manages to pass.

When the new semester begins, Aya is elected class rep, and joins the basketball team. On the boys team is someone she's had eyes for, which add to the things she look forward to.

Amidst her happy days at school, Aya begins to experience physical difficulties. She often drops food from her chopsticks while eating, can't pour drinks without spilling it, and occasionally wobbles while she walks. Aya's mother Shioka, a former nurse, is the only person who notices these changes.

One day, Aya is about to leave home as usual when she starts to run, trips over her own feet and falls. She failed to use her hand to break the fall, causing her to land on her face and making her bleed heavily. This injury soon reveals the existence of Aya's fateful disease.

Ep 02: 15 years old, sickness that steals up

Aya's mother Shioka is thinking about what Dr. Mizuno, the neurologist doctor treating her daughter's illness, told her on the last visit as she goes to pick up Aya's medicine prescription from the hospital. She goes to see Dr. Mizuno to ask him for the MRI scans so she can see other doctors for a second opinion.

At school, Aya is enjoying herself with her friends Sugiura Mari and Matsumura Saki as they eat lunch and later talk about the school song. They ask Tomita-san, the girl who likes Haruto, to play the piano for their chorus but she only agrees when Haruto tells her to. Meanwhile, Shioka is researching Aya's illness and is finding out the effects the disease will have on Aya. In gym class, Aya is chosen to participate in next week's basketball game with Kita High and is encouraged by Kawamoto-senpai, her school crush.

Shioka is visiting other doctor's hoping to find a better explanation or a cure but to no avail. At home, the family is viewing the photo album and are acting happily as Aya tells them she is playing in a basketball game next week. Everyone agrees on showing their support for her.

In the Aso household, Dr. Aso is telling Haruto of his expectation for him to do well in the upcoming exams, but Haruto retreats into his room where he recalls a childhood memory of a conversation between him and his deceased older brother Keisuke on their camping/fishing trip.

At home, Shioka is a little startled when Ako finds her reading late at night. The next day, Aya is visiting a doctor about her injury and meets a little girl named Yuka. They play ball while Yuka is waiting for her dad's exam to finish. Aya feels strange when Yuka mentions her dad getting a similar injury on his chin. Aya leaves before she sees Yuka's father.

While leaving a patient's house, Shioka notices a book that fell out of her bag and goes off to do more research. In the park, Aya meets and talks with Haruto again when she drops by to see the stray puppy from last time.

Shioka comes home only to drive off again to meet with a doctor specialising in the spinocerebellar atrophy disease. Meanwhile, Ako asks Aya if she is diseased because she is losing weight without dieting. Shioka meets with Dr. Miyamoto Shintaro to talk about a possible cure or operation for Aya but again she finds no solution. She returns home to tell Mizuo about Aya's disease.

The next day, Shioka and Mizuo persuade everyone to go support Aya at her basketball match. At the game, Aya's parents try to put on brave faces as they watch Aya play. Haruto and his friends Onda Kouhei and Nakahara are also there watching. After the game, Aya walks with Kawamoto-senpai and is reminded of a past memory they shared.

Later at night, Aya returns to the park to feed the stray puppy but walks off when Haruto arrives with the same intention. He persuades her to adopt the puppy. Aya brings the puppy home and Haruto is invited to join the Ikeuchi's for dinner.

The next day, Shioka and Mizuo visit Dr. Mizuno together to talk about Aya's disease. At school, Aya is conducting the music lesson.

Later at the clinic, Aya is told by Dr. Mizuno that she will need to start rehabilitation. While Shioka continues talking to Dr. Mizuno, Aya helps Yuka with the taking the groceries to Yuka's father's room. On the way home, Aya questions her mother about her illness.
